Vacant Position:

  • Lecturer




  • Conduct courses in Information Technology, specifically ICS 101 – Digital Tools for the Information World, under general supervision.
  • Maintain office hours of at least one hour per week for each course taught
  • Prepare course schedules and reports related to teaching and student progress.
  • Integrate teaching efforts with other instructors in the discipline area under the supervision of the division head.
  • Collect evaluations from students and peers and complete periodic self-assessments of teaching effectiveness.
  • Complete instructional assignments which may include day, evening, morning, extension (such as Early College), and/or distance education classes.
  • Adhere to the principles and philosophy of the community college.
  • Work effectively with a diverse student and community population in accordance with Board of Regents Policy 4.207 III.F.1 and the university’s practice of the open admissions concept.


Master of Computer and Information Science, OR (b) Master of Business with courses in business computer applications OR (c) Master of Educational Technology with course in computer applications, OR (d) Bachelor of Computer and Information Science and three years of related work experience*, OR (e) Bachelor’s degree in Business with courses in business computer applications and three years of related work experience*, OR (f) Bachelor’s degree in any field with five years of related work experience* including training, OR (g ) ) Associate’s Degree in Business with some courses in business computer applications and five years of related work experience*, including training, OR (h) 15 college credits in Business with some courses in business computer applications and seven years of experience *, including training, OR (i) Job Mastery Recognition by Business Community in Applications computer skills and ten years of related work experience*, including training.
All degrees must be obtained from an accredited institution. If qualified applicants are not available, those who do not meet the minimum requirements may be considered on an exceptional basis.

The experience must be within the last 5 years.

Desirable qualifications

  • Successful community college teaching experience in a variety of modalities, including face-to-face and online learning.
  • Ability to use writing tasks and integrate the teaching of appropriate thinking skills into course content as an integral part of students’ learning activities in the classroom.
